Age is Revolting by Abi Zakarian was Written for the National Theatre New Connections Play Library.
The preconceptions of a class of young pupils of what age is and how they view older people is challenged when a substitute teacher transports them into a care home where they find themselves old. It is an abstract play which attempts to look at different cultures and attitudes towards the older generations - which causes much concern amongst the pupils until they find a way to navigate back to current day with a much deeper understanding.
It has been fun working on some new writing and the challenges it has posed. The Company have risen to the challenge and have enjoyed the process and conversations that this has brought to the sessions.
